    Help needed

    Hi all,

I have this ASF file that is non-seekable. I downloaded ASFTools 3.10 from www.geocities.com/myasftools/, and tried to make it seekable, but it said that "new style flags" were detected and I was supposed to use the "Lost Chunks" tool instead to make it seekable. So, I tried that, but then when I play it, the video doesn't play anymore.

I then tried to make it seekable by going to advanced repair and "reset live" and checked "clear all other flags". Then I tried to make it seekable again, but when I played it, it still wouldn't seek.

I also tried the "delete them" for the bad chunks options in advanced repair but that also makes the video disappear. I also tried to convert it to AVI but the output file becomes only 2kb.

    Any ideas?

I (believe) that it's encoded with WMV3. I'm using Windows Media Player 9 to play it.

    Thanks.

      To Roadwarrior:

It appears that you have a corrupt file so you might be out of luck.

"Is there anything I can do?"

Given the fact that you have already attempted to repair the file, I don't think there is anything you can do.
