Freeze Crash with Divx Files

I've been having a strange anomaly with Divx/AVI files. I recently converted for a friend an Mpeg 2 file to Divx using DVD2AVI and Gordian Knot 0.28.7. (I converted the audio to mp3 prior to converting the video). The thing is when I open the folder to where I saved the Divx file and select it to get properties on the file, I always freeze crash and have to restart. Any feedback would be appreciated as to what might be the cause.

Machine Info:

CPU: 1.8 GHz
C:\ Drive 40 Gig
D:\ Drive 40 Gig
RAM: 500 MB
OS: Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

Well, I ended up solving it by way of some experimentation. It turns out that I had Divx 5.11 Pro trial version, but I have been using the more "Stable" Divx 3.11 alpha. It seems there is a conflict between the two, and that was causing my machine to lock up when selecting the file(s). I uninstalled 5.11 and now everything is fine.
