Xvid playback on new XP installation

    Reloaded XP.

Xvid worked before now it doesn't. I installed latest Xvid codec.

It actuallly works, but the synching is off in WMP 9. Things do work in BSPlayer.

In WMP, playback is choppy (freezes for a moment here and there).

Only Xvid and OGG audio codecs installed.

    Another curious thing.

I removed all video codecs from device manager, wanting to try again. WMP still managed to find an xvid codec though somehow. I disabled "automatic" download in WMP.

How can I remove the bloody codecs to try again? I used the XVid uninstall. I also tried the AceMegaCodec pack "aggressive unistall". Still, WMP found a codec to play the files but the synching problem remained.

    Ideas?

    Thanks....

    1. Use GSpot to search for installed codecs !!!

    2. Watch the dll's n' description it shows you then...

    3. Search n' delete the dll's of the codecs you wanna remove !!!

    Btw, WMP9 is crap !!!

Use MediaPlayerClassic, ZoomPlayer or MPlayer2 instead...

    Bye
