    capturing micro mv

    ok ,ive just ripped a movie file from my sonyDCR-IP1 ,through the firewire 1394 I/Link using pinnacle 9..
    the ripped movie file has blury dark results..nowhere near the same quality as the orignal movie from the micro mv tape ,why is this?? do i need some kind of a capture card ??
    appreciate your help !!

    If I'm not mistaken, the SONY Micro MV cameras come with something called Movie Shaker, which allows you to transfer the MMV video from your camera to your HDD, in a variety of formats, such as MPEG-2. The program itself is very limited for editing, but it works well to transfer the MMV video files to your HDD. Once there, you can then edit them with a variety of software editors. I believe you also need to have QuickTime installed to do this.
