    DirectX 9

    Hey,

Does any of you guys know if it is possible to uninstall directX 9 (I know Microsoft says you can't downgrade, but I was hoping there might be a way around this)? I think my pc does not fully support directx 9, since, when I start my pc, it takes about 5 minutes before programs like radlight or winamp 3 open. Once any of these opens, it is no problem and I can open the other ones in no time. I blame directX9 (in combination with my rather slow (PII, 400) machine.
So, could anyone help me out?

    Thx a lot

i highly doubt it s directx9 that is causing you problems. the reason why your programs start slow is probably because you have a slow computer, and possibly because of spy-ware. download ad-aware to solve that problem.
but if you really want to delete diretx, i would say to format your pc and re-install windows. win98 SE comes with directx 7 if i am not mistaken. if you are running winxp, then THERE is your problem... you need an upgrade

    good luck

I think there was some DX uninstall tool but I would have my Windows installation CD ready in any case
