old Xvid x new XviD... compatible?

So, I watch lots of anime videos, and because of that, made lots of researches on codecs and players and even made a brazilian-portuguese tutorial about what you have to install in order to watch any anime available on the net.

Ok, I've recently installed the latest release of the re-awaken XviD problem, and since then, I can't get no XviD encoded anime to work properly.
Audio plays properly but most files will have that "blurring, ghost effect"... something like there's a perfectly clear image on one scene, and then, instead of proceeding normally, parts of the image just stays on screen... sometimes only the contour of the next frame appears.
I think it's not CRC or inconsistency errors on downloading, since it happened to... almost 15 files I downloaded already.
I use ffdshow, and the raw codecs (divX311,412,501,ogg,ogm) and nothing else.. no faulty packs, no weird filters... no reason at all to have problem, unless there's some sorta incompatibility with the renewed xvid codec with videos encoded with older versions (Nic's or... well the other one).
People who watch anime, probably had the same errors when trying to watch the latest episodes of some animes fansubbed by Aoi-Anime.
Anyone knows how to solve this?

Admins, sorry for the double posting, but this is necessary since the scenario has changed... I think I solved the problem.
I read the post about WinXP problems, and as most people there, I kinda solved the problem in some blurry way.
I got pissed because I reached number 20 or more file that had the same irritating problem, and because of those problems, I stop watching 3 of my favorite animes.
So, since I had made a step by step installing tutorial for codecs, I decided to unistall everything and start from scratch again.
Now, we all know these codecs do some kinda ****ty mess in your computer and even though you select to uninstall it, it just doesn't uninstall. The dlls are still there, the registry entries are still there.
Anyways, I uninstalled, using first the uninstall program that comes with the codecs, and then, the windows uninstall.
I was going to start deleting the dlls and registry entries when I had the brilliant idea to test one of the files that was faulty... and voilá! It player just fine.
    So, everything I done was:
    Uninstall XviD
    Uninstall ffdshow
    Uninstall DivX5.11 bundle
    ... think that's about it.
3.01 and 4.12 I was going to uninstall manually... but since things seems to be working now, I'll not risk messing with it again.

Oh, one more thing... seems like codec 4.12 and 5.xx are no longer compatible, so, if you have both installed, I suggest you keep only one!

Edit: Having some problems with older animes... no video... probably problems with DivX codec, I guess
