    asf files

I am having trouble making an asf file be viewed offline and for it to be saved. I have tried many methods as suggested on this forum and in other websites. I have lost count of the number of software I have used. I would want the file to be in mpg after it has been saved. Please can someone help.

Here is the file I am trying to save:

    Try a program called "AVSVideoConverter".

When I open up the input file, I get a error message "File format error. The input file is damaged or your input file format is not supported." I seem to get this with most software programs I have used. So far I have used FreeMe, Stoik Video Converter and many other programs. Any ideas please?

"I seem to get this with most software programs I have used."

Then it seems pretty clear that you have a "Corrupt" file.

More like it is heavily protected. Surely there must be a way to make it available into mpg or avi?

Are you suggesting that the file may be encrypted? Then unless you know of some way to "Break" the encryption scheme, you are almost in the same boat as acknowledging the file might be corrupt. The end result is the same in that the file is most likely unusable.

Have you downloaded the file and tried with any software?

Tried opening it with "AVSVideoConverter", "TMPGEnc Plus 2.5", and "WinAVI Video Converter". It failed to open using all three programs. Believe me when I tell you-you have a "Corrupt" file.

Then, if you are asking how to overcome protection that is intended to PREVENT you from downloading and/or altering the file, you are in violation of the rules of this forum...
