    subtitles wont appear!! help!!

    Hi
I have an Xvid avi movie. It comes with .sub and .idx files along with it. The .sub and .idx files are named exactly like the avi movie. I play the movie on BSplayer and Windows Media Player but the subtitles won't show up. Can anyone please help me? Thanks

try downloading & installing a program called "vobsub", then make sure the file name of the subtitle file is exactly the same as the file name of the movie file, and put them in the same folder. then play the movie

    good luck

you should not have to "do anything" with vobsub... just install it, and it will automatically show subtitles when you play the file in media player

"Sub Resync" is a tool that synchronizes the subtitle text with the audio in the movie.l.. use this only if your subtitles are out-of-sync

        good luck

Do I have to play the movie in a Divx player so the subtitles will show when I download them in .srt format?

hey it works! but the subtitles are out of sync..they don't match with the movie. Is there a way to correct it?
