Asf>avi>vcd???

I have a few .asf files that I need to put on CD...i cant convert them directly to VCD so i thought to avi and then to VCD but I cant convert them to avi i have tried ASFTools 3.1 but there is an ''error while converting'' right at the start on the first pass...wot other apps are good???

Also the first file is an hour long but when I play it it only says its 17 seconds long...(its 46 MB and not great quality so it cant be 17 seconds long...)

Any advise??? or is the file just corrupt.....

TMPGEnc (free version) will open asf/wmv files and convert them to a VCD MPEG. There's no need to convert to avi first.
