    .mov video playback

Using QuickTime Alternative and Media player calssic, I can't get Media Player Classic to play the video of MOV files. It changes the window to the correct resolution of the movie file and plays the sound, but no video.

The plugin aspect of QuicTime Alternative works because I can drag the video into IE and it works. Also Media Player Classic can play video of AVI, etc.

    So any ideas?

    Thanks.

Why don't you simply use the (free from Apple) QuickTime Player?

Because of the way it takes control of your computer. I dunno, I don't really like it. It seems to be too much program for too simple of a task.

"Because of the way it takes control of your computer"

Are you referring to the way it runs in the "Background"? If so, you can change it so that it will not load at startup.

Maybe I was disenchanted by a bad release, but Quicktime seems to be a horribly written program that crashes a lot. Add that to the fact that all it does is play quicktime movies, it's a big investment for its annoyances when you only want to use it twice a year.
But yeah, I'm sure it does work, but for now I can just drag .mov files into a browser.
