Pinnacle Studio analog capture thru DV

I've been trying to capture some old 8mm analog vieos thru my Canon DV camcorder using analog->DV passthru.

I had been able to capture in Pinnacle Studio until recently.

I don't know what's changed, but now I start pinnacle capturing , then start the analog camcorder playing. Pinnacle captures for a second & then almost right after the vidoe actually starts coming thru, it pops up an error saying that it detected an audio change & capturing has stopped.

This used to work & I can't figure out what's changed.

    Anyone have any ideas ??

    Well,

I found the solution & figured I'd post it in case anyone else runs into the issue:

The problem was the Audio #of bits setting on my DV Camcorder.

The setting can be either 12-bit or 16-bit. At some point I changed it to 16, figuring I might as well get the better resolution.

Well, when doing the analog pass-thru, with the setting at 16-bits, either the DV camcorder or pinnacle has an issue with it when changing from no analog video going into the DV camcorder and when the analog video actually starts.

Using 12-bits, the pass thru & capture works fine.
