    OpenDivx Playback Problem in MPC

    Hi all!

I have been using Media Player Classic a lot lately, and it is indeed a bloody fantastic player!

Unfortunately, as Murphy says, theres gotta be a problem in such a good situation...

Well, the problem occurs when trying to play Divx clips, that were encoded with "Divx 4 - OpenDivx" (info by GSpot). MPC displays a blank black screen, but sound is heard. As opposed to that, Divx5 is played without any problem.
I have the Divx Pro Codec installed.

My question is how to make those OpenDivx encoded clips to play in MPC with the Divx Pro Codec installed?
Those clips are played fine on the original Windoes Media Player 6.4, so I guess the problem is with MPC?
I tried to download The OpenDivx Codec for Windoes, but it overrides the Divx Pro Codec, and I don't want that, because I want to encode with that codec...

Thanks in advance for all your help!
Ask me question if you didn't quite understed what I want from you lol...

    1) If you are adequately versed, you can change the FOURCC code to DIV3

    2) Since you are only referring to playback, try installing the FFDShow filter

    3) Continue to use the conventional Windows Media Player to playback these videos

I'd suggest changing the FOURCC to "DIVX". DIV3 is from the original 3.11 codec. OpenDivX is closer to DivX4. I'm not sure if they're handled different, but just my $0.02
