Xvid Error Video speed up, audio normal

PLease help guys, I even sifted through the posts from 2 years. Ago. Basically my movies and TV shows in xvid playback fine until every 5-10 minutes or so when the video skips ahead (seems to fast forward) a couple of seconds and the audio either disappears for that second or remains the same. I have a p4 2.6 ghz 800fsb 512mb RAM, MCE 2005 FFDSHOW and AC3 filter

    cheers

Sounds to be a badly authored or corrupt XviD file.

Nah I know there is nothing wrong with the xvids, there are about 40 of them, all that do this same little thing. I know it has something to do with AC3 filter and xvid movies.

The issue has been posted here before but I cannot find the thread. Video skips a few frames (like it is momentarily sped up) then returns to normal speed but Audio stays intact and continues to play on most occasion or speeds up with video. If i rewind 5 seconds the same scene is fine

Hello. I have the exact same problem. Running Win2k on an Sempron 2.2GHz with 512MB RAM. MPC and Zoom Player do the same that you say. Mplayer is unaffected. This seems to be a software problem. Hope anyone can help us?

what software is playing these? do you have power dvd by chance? try uninstalling fddshow and installing the xvid 1.1.0 codec. worth a try.
Download the latest version of the XviD codec, which is needed to play and create XviD videos. We offer free downloads for both Windows and Mac users.

get the one for windows (koepi's binary)

I tried almost every version of ffdshow, SSE and non-SSE ones. I even used the Windows' performance tool to check for CPU usage. It seems that when the video skips or jumps, the cpu usage goes up. Again, MPlayer works with no problems, but Xvid still has problems. Will try without CPU optimizations to see if it solves something.
