    problem with codec

    Hello ,

I can't play my divx or xvid movies anymore since a day or 2.
When I open Gspot all compatble codec are there but when I tried to render I got the message rendering failed with the following message 0X80040265 VFW_E_Unsupported_stream
It all happend after installing a few program and a update of microsoft .
I already uninstalled these programs but nothing seems to work.
I even uninstalled DirectX en installed an earlier version but that didn't work.
I uninstalled all codec and installed it again but mij movies wont play .
When I use BSplayer I got the message File is corrupt ,Seeking will be slow !, The movies play but with no sound
and I know that my movies are OK

Hope somebody can help ... Thanks

If your O/S is WinXP, simply perform a "System Restore" back to the last date that things were working properly...

If your OS is XP, simply do a "System Restore" back to when you know things were working properly.

It sounds like you may have to do a full reinstall of XP...

(If you DO, I'd strongly suggest you NOT disable the "System Restore" capability)

                      Unfortunately, you eliminated that possibility...
