Hi, I've recently come across a problem playing my divx (and xvid) files - they are loading with just audio and a black screen.
I use VLC to play them and these files were all playing fine a few days ago, but suddenly I'm just not getting video. I tried using other players (winamp, wmp, nero showtime etc) but I get the same problem with them too. Gspot reports that I have the correct codecs and the files are rendering successfully with no errors. I've tried reinstalling codecs, but that hasn't helped either, and I can't think of anything I've installed in the last few days that could have an effect.
The only time I see any sort of error is if I open the files with virtualdub. If I open a file with AC3 audio, it tells me it can't find an audio decompressor (but its always done that), and if i load any of the other videos it tells me that it has detected an improper vbr audio encoding in the source avi, but I *can* play the video from within virtualdub.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks in advance...
