Have problem with windows media player 8 (winxp) it can play movie that r divx4 coded, i can play those movies with the playa or even wm6.4, but not wm8..

Use Virtual Dub
You can use Virtual Dub to "re-save" the AVI file and it will play in Windows Media Player 8 no problem. Just open up the AVI file in Virtual Dub and then select Direct Stream Copy in video and audio, and then "Mark in" the movie, and go to the last frame and then "Mark out" the movie and then do a file --> Save AVI as. Give it a new name, and when it is finished you will be able to play that AVI file in WMP 8. You can then delete the origional divx 4 avi and just use the new AVI you created using Virtual dub. Here are some instructions on a webpage for you just in case my directions were not clear. Only instead of splitting up a file like in the "guide", you will just be selecting the entire movie.
