Re:I need help converting a file- screencapture soft

My next plan of action was screen recorder software, and record the audio with my opda, then combinethe tow, i but i havn't found any screen recording software that'd give me a truly good quality recording. Any suggestions? Or other courses of action to convert these damned things? lol..... Thank you for replying so fast!

Right click on your link above, and select "Save target as..."
Save it to your hard drive.
Open Windows Movie Maker, load the video.
Cut the commercials if you like, then save it.
Select a format you want to save it in.
They range from near DVD quality (best, bigger files) to 56k internet download quality (very poor quality, very small files).

I need help converting a file- save as?

Hi! I tried right clicking, but it's not a simple file you can just right click and save. It's embedded in the webpage. I've also tried taking a file converting software to it, and it didn't work. thank you for trying to help!

I need help converting a file file types

I tried to right click and save again, just to be sure. The one files seems to be a .pl file and the other a .tpl file, the first saves as a winamp media file, the second as a webpage. so, i gues the question comes now - how do i convert the .pl (winamp media file) to a wmv. same goes for the .tp file.

            Very greatful, grazzi!l

Sorry, I should have checked the link better.
Go to the page, and watch the whole video.
Open Windows Explorer, browse to you temporary internet files folder. Search for ".wmv"
Once you find it, right click, drag and drop it (release mouse, select copy) to wherever you want, in another folder.
                Open it in WMM.

Ok, just did it. Did not find the wmv's in it.

I had originally saved the files i right clicked from some kind of viewer things...i think they were windows media viewers of some sort, and files that i opened with notepad were a .pl, and .pl.smi. I copied and pastied the links i got from those files i opened in notepad and posted them here. I opened the window which I had originally gotten those files from (because I clicked on the links I posted and got an error message), watched the entire thing, then went to my temporary internet files folder, and came up empty handed.

My neice wanted me to espcially svae these files because she wnated to view them offline, and she feared that after a period of time, these videos would no longer be online for her to view.

I guess I could do another screen recording if worst came to worst, but wonder if there's any screen recorders that provide a good clear quality file, and maybe one that allow you to automatically save to wmv. also, are there any freeware types that meet those specifications?

Did you by chance check the websites that you listed in your initial post to see if they have a "Standalone" video file format other than a "Streaming" format that you can download independently?

                        Hi ormonde!

I made sure to do that first. that's actually why i'm in this mess, because i didn't see any. Only the atreaming that i know of, UNLESS there's a way, a trick to get to the files i didn't knwo about. You can't just download the files.

I went to the main page.
Clicked on one of the links to watch the video.
It makes me choose a format, so I select Windows Media.
I watched it, then right before the very end, I close the browser.
Browse through temp internet, and there it is, in .wmv
Copied it to another folder, opened it in movie maker with no trouble.
Try opening your browser, (for IE) go to Tools, Internet options, and in the "Temporary Internet Files" section, click Settings, then View files.
See if you can find it.
                          I had no trouble.

Hi reboot! Ok, I tried exactly as you said. several times. I found the file in my temp folder, but it came up as a playlist file in mine, not wmv. I even tried opening it in WMM, and i got an error message saying that it was an 'empty file'.
                              Oiii...veyy.....
