    DVD to M2V/AVI Conversion

I Authored a DVD in which I Used 2 Separate AVI's to make Using TMPEG DVD author and Tmpeg Encoder. Unfortunately on one of the AVIs that I used and converted to M2V, the quality is bad and grainy.
All I need to do is to take my DVD and convert the .VOB files *BACK* to the original *uncompressed* AVI or M2V file so that I can reauthor the DVD.

Whats a really good program to help me convert DVD back to AVI/M2V (uncompressed)?

Unfortunately, you can't uncompress a video that's been compressed - By compressing, you've permanently lost some of the original data.

Is there a reason you can't simply use the original two .AVIs again?

I suppose that I can. Its just goign to be a chore taking out the laser discs and doing it all over again. I thought that it was possible to uncompress a video thats been compressed.

      Anyone?

I can advise you this method:

        1- With final Dgindex 1.30, opens your file m2v and validates the project d2v with "Save project " (d2v / audio);
2- After uses Vfapi convert 1.05 to convert your d2v into avi.
3- Then uses VDM with the codec Huffyuv to have a avi without compresion.

        Or

4- uses a very simple script avs without filter and VDM + huffyuv for the avi without loss.

        It’s just a method.

          To guada 2

The things you are suggesting will not UNcompress any of the data - they will only NOT compress the data further...

            Hello Setarip,

It is clear, one cannot do better than the original.
I always thought that the mode without compression DV codec, Logarith and Huffyuv was reliable.

If it is like the audio, example FLAC 1.12 which gives an audio file to 60% approximately, it is sure I will lose data later on.

            NOTE: sorry for my translation
