Hello, I have a weird problem with Mediachance's Dvd Lab Pro, maybe somebody can help me before I'll melt my mind (and dvd-rw, too!) trying to solve this problem..
I'm trying to author a DVD, I have no problem with video and audio files for the "movies": they play very well on the pc and on my dvd-player.
The matter comes with the menus. I have 14 menus linked together, each with a simple background picture, a link to the main menu, a link to a peculiar "movie" and two links, with auto-action, to get to the next or the previous menu. I also have different music for all of those menus. And each menu has an end link to the next menu, meaning that after the music stops playing, the next menu will be played.
If I compile the dvd and try it on the pc with WinDVD, it works great. When I try it in my slightly old JVC dvd player (buyed 2 years ago, doesn't read DVD+R), everything works fine but I don't get audio on the menus. The menu appears and waits for the lenght of the audio track to pass and then goes up to the next menu - but no audio is played. That doesn't happens for all menus - the last one was playing its audio. All of the settings are correct, I checked them a lot of times.
I tried to make some changes to the project, like doing the menu work all up again, or with less menus, and I got different, fuzzy results: sometimes a certain menu played its music, and other times the same menu didn't play audio, while other did. It doesn't seem to have a logic at all!
Something that I am sure of is that: Root menu always plays its audio. I tried to convert it all to AC3 (otherwise my files were .mp2), but it didn't solve things. I tried to give less bitrate (128kbps) to the mp2 files, but nothing changed. Moreover, if i put the audio files in the root menu, they work, so it doesn't seem to be a decoder problem.
I would like to show my dvd to friends in my dvd player... so anybody has a hint beyond buying a new dvd player?
Thank you!
