How do I repair audio to dvd backup files?

    Hi:
Im a newbie so please bear with me. I have a bunch of dvd backups from old tv shows. the video is ok but sound is only coming from one channel (right speaker only). I don't care about stereo sound I just want to get the sound to play out of both channels together.

This is what I tried so farI could be wrong) I open the file in goldwave and copied one channel to the other and saved the file as a wave.

Next I converted the wave to a MP2 file using TMPGEnc 2.5

I believe now I need to remux the new audio to the video. Im using infoedit to do this but im not having any success. can anyone tell the steps to follow to remux using infoedit or another tool to use to complete this task.

Where the backups made from commercial DVD's? or Where they captured with a capture card through your VCR?

The dvd backups were captured with a capture card through a VCR. They were made for me and I don't have access to the original material.
