The Value and Quality of MainConcept Encoder

    Hey all,
I've been using the MainConcept 1.4 encoder for a while now, and i've been pretty happy with it. I used it mainly to render my edited DV to MPEG 2 DVD format.
However, I am some behind on state-of-the-art encoders, and I am wondering if version 1.4 of the MainConcept encoder is still up to the competition..
So, how do you feel about MainConcept Encoder 1.4 as far as quality and efficiency ?
What is the up-to-date competition ?
    Thanks!!

For DV-AVI source material, Canopus Procoder holds as the best...however, it's roughly 30 times the price.
Mainconcept is still in the top 4, tied for speed with CCE.
Some prefer it's slightly softer output, and definitely the GUI.
    It's still the "best-bang-for-the-buck".

Mainconcept is still my favorite. IMO it is one of if not the fastest encoder's currently available. Easy to use and good results.

        Thanks dudes!
I lack the enthusiasm I used to have a few years ago, so I just asked instead of doing a lot of reading..
I guess I'll keep on using MainConcept

        Cheers!
