Samsung 16xDVD+- RW

Hi All,

Recently, I bought a pc , using gigabytes 81915g duo motherboard, intel lga 3 megahertz cpu. I test drive my samsung dvd player, found that i could play cd, vcd movies with no problems.(the sound and movie are great.)

But when i play dvd movie, I can see the movie but there is no sound heard. What could be the problem?I am using window xp home edition and window media player version 10.


Is it a codec problem? plse advise as i am new to the system, thanks.

You are trying to play it in windows media player. This is probably the worst player around. Download Media Player Classic and your troubles will vanish.

Probably so. You're probably lacking an .AC3 audio codec/filter.

As an alternative to Windows Media Player Classic, you might want to try (also freeware) VideoLAN (also known as "VLC")...

thanks guys, i downloaded the Media player classic and it played my dvd movies beautifully.
