    Trouble With DivX

I`ve Tried to play the DivX Movies I`ve got (30 in Total) i`ve got a problem i put them in the drive open the 'PLAYA' or 'Power Dvd' or 'Windows Media Player 6.4' then open the file the movie comes on heres where the problem starts the volume plays perfect and for what i can see the picture quality is perfect but the film is running slow just like slow motion compared to the Sound which is going perfect

    I`ve Got a G-Force 2 Mx400 Graphics Card

And I`ve Downloaded the 4.12 Bundle With Codecs and the Nimo Codecs Bundle .

This is what it says when i click on properties then the details tab

    608 x 336, 24 Bits, 118469 Frames, 25.000 Frames/Sec, 150 KB/Sec, DIVXMPG4 V3

Anybody Got Any Ideas i`ve been stuck for ages

The file was created with the DivX v.3.11alpha codec. Uninstall the 4.12 codec (temporarily). Install the 3.11 codec. Then, if you have a need, install the 4.12 codec anew - and answer witha resounding "NO!" when it asks if you want the 4.12 codec to play 3.11 files for you.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

          Whats your pc model?

I have heard about similar problems with i think HP machines
where the sound (not the picture) sounds like the smurfs.

I think this problem was solved with a bios upgrade or patch..

Check you pc manufacturers homepage to see if this might be a known issue with your machine.

          Just a thought...

          Cheers

I don't think you need to go that far by contacting the manufacturer.

Personally, I have had no luck with DIVX v4.xx and v5. Either, the videos don't play or it ALWAYS causes a/v out of synch and the quality going crap!

Try install the original DIVX v4 codec, see if that helps.

I see no downside to going to the manufacturers homepage and downloading / upgrading BIOS anyways...do you?

I'm just saying what i've seen before...

              Cheers

I've got the same problem, but not with all my AVI files. Some of them I've fixed by opening them in Virtualdub and re-keying them, but I'm stuck with one file that's been encoded with DIVX 5. Looking at the file details it all seems fine, but it plays in slow motion. If I find a fix I'll let you know.

                Matt.
