    divx to dvd

how do I copy a Divx movie onto a 4.7 dvd. I have a divx player (just bought) but the divx movies are usually 7 gigs in size. I read someone's comment saying to copy on dvd as data, it's still 7 gigs into 4.7. that doesn't compute.

"the divx movies are usually 7 gigs in size"

No - DivX files are typically only about 700Mb in size. You should be able to fit six or more onto one DVD...

Load the avi in Gspot, Avicodec, or Virtualdub (all free) and check to see if the audio is in an uncompressed format.

Yeah Virtual dub is great for such things, but divx is not 7GB. A Divx movie with lenght of 90 min. is with optimal AV compression not larger as 800MB!

A huffyuv capture of a 90 min movie will be about that size, or larger.
Maybe the source isn't really DivX?

again, Load the avi in Gspot, Avicodec, or Virtualdub (all free) and check to see if the audio is in an uncompressed format. This will tell you what type of video you have and the info for the video.
