    DiVX avi file won't play

    Hi,

I recently downloaded a avi file which required the DiVX codec. When I played it in Windows Media Player 10 it came up with an error message stating that I needed one or more codecs to play it. I used a program called AVIcodec to check which codecs I needed and it said that I have all the relevent codecs to play the file. However, even after updating both the Video and audio codec it still won't play. Am I missing something.

Welcome to the Digital Video Forums of Digital Digest!

    1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

    2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box
