I am in the UK and have been using DVD Shrink for some time along with Nero 6.I have been successful in making copies of new dvds(R2)until I upgraded Nero to 6.6 Now I repeat the same procedure but the copies will not play on any of my dvd players BUT will play on my laptop!! I then uninstalled 6.6 and reistalled the old Nero 6, with the same result. If anyone has experienced this situation and/or hs a solution, Iwould be grateful to hear it. I am 80 years of age and am very computer illiterate, so please explain in a simple way.I believe there is a way to turn my computer(windows XP)back in time. Is this possible and would it solve the problem please ? help

Welcome to the Digital Video Forums of Digital Digest!
"I am 80 years of age and am very computer illiterate"
Based on your use of DVD Shrink and NERO, it's rather hard to accept your feeling of computer illiteracy ;>}
If you have more questions, always feel free to ask them...
I'm guessing that the cause of your recent difficulty is that you've recently changed brands of burnable media...
Since you were born in the UK in 1925 or so, you probably remember the godawful "Margate Black Thursday Riot", as I do... -

I have never heard of the"Margate.............riot, but does it have any relevance to my problem ? i'm afraid you've rather lost me here.
Could you answer my second suggestion, viz. system restore?
Thanks for your helpComment

"what do you mean by 'burnable media'?"
The blank discs that you use NERO to copy to.
"Could you answer my second suggestion, viz. system restore?"
Since you say the copies DO play on your laptop, but DO NOT play on your standalone DVD players, I doubt that performing a "System Restore" will resolve the situation.Comment

Further to previous messages, can anyone say that when I use 'system restore', I get the message "system is unable to restore to this date". I have tried about 6 different dates of between 4 & 6 weeks ago , all with the same response! My son in law , who considers himself somewhat of a 'computer buff', cannot understand it. Can anyone help please?
