problem playing in dvd

i know many have said you have to watch your media and get good media. So i went to the website many have said and checked what i need to play in my Philips DVD-+RW DVD8631 player. I went out and bought Verbatim 16X DVD+R 's
after using WINAvi to convert a movie and Nero 6.6.0.15a to burn it successfully i put it in my Toshiba DVD player and am still having halts, and stops, then skips thoughout the movie. PLEASE HELP!!

the most accurate way to identify a blank media is from the media ID. some brands switch media id/dye for whatever reason. However reputable brands usually maintain a good quality control. as a test you could try a -r reputable media. this has worked for me in the pass. sometimes you kinda have to experiment to see what works best for you. also pick up a few dvd rw for testing purposes, saves money
