Divx thru a mpeg-card to tv

I'm have recently aquired a Sigma Designs Hollywood Magic mpeg-card to watch divx's on my telly since my graphix card don't support tv-out .
Then I started looking for software to use to 'do the impossible', run .avi through an 'mpeg-lens' and I found 2 of them: Divxplus and HHplus. Neither of them works though. Both locks down XP so bad I have to restart (can't even kill them).
Desperatley looking for another solution!
HHplus is said to work under W2000 and Divxplus is said to work under W98.

for another month... then its Athlon time! (nevertheless... my problem still stands)

You pretty much said it all, I have been able to make divxplus work under win2k but it's more like an art than an exact method (usually takes me 5 - 10 minutes to get a good picture).

If you haven't already done so, you should definetly visit sigma's news groups at news.sigmadesigns.com divx playback on the hollywood plus card is the hottest topic on those groups.
