One file (.avi) does not playback sound, the others do

I have one very large file that since it was captured does not play back sound.
Justprior to capturing the video, it was verified that the sound was working (test capture). The video is close to 1G and prior to shutting down the computer, it was verified that the .avi had sound. However in trying to review the video today, the picture is there bu no audio. I used VidFix and Videofixer to try to recover (not that I even understand what I am fixing) but to no avail.

    Any suggestions

do you have sound on other files?

could you post a screenshot of the file information (video and audio) from a program like virtualdubmod (freeware)?

use avicodec or Gspot (both free). either one will give you the info of the file and tell you if the correct codec/s is/are installed on your pc
