AfreeCodec locks up on me

Hi, I just installed AFreeCodec on my PC, I meet the requirenments and I am running XP Pro. When I load the program, it looks fine. I browse for an .avi file and my screen locks up, including the program.

I used Task Manager to 'end the process', but the program refused.
I was also getting numerous runtime errors. Then XP tells me it is not responding. I have to reboot the computer and then start all over. I tried contacting AFreeCodec using the programs 'Contact Us' icon found near the bottom of the programs main menu, however the contact sheet appears blank and also cannot be used.

Anyone else have these problems? I can try a reinstall, but so far I have been quite disappointed. But I do get a kick out of these smilies.

If afreeCodecVT locks up after loading a video it is because the file is not a valid video format. Another reason is the video may be corrupted.

afreeCodecVT2 is in development and will have the proper error handling.
