766mb download only playing for 2 minutes

I have just downloaded an entire movie file [DivX avi] of 766mb but when I opened it on my DivX player it only played a 2-minute trailer. Is it possible that the entire movie is buried in there and somehow accessible? Or can it truly be the case that this is a 766mb file that only plays for 2 minutes?

I suspect that the DVD rip includes the trailer from the DVD *as well as* the movie but no player that I have gives me access to any menu or anything that would allow me to see any other files within this one. Can anyone help?

VERY likely is only 2 minutes....i'd be willing to bet you a dollar to a donut.
if every player tells you it's 2 min. it' is. you downloaded a bogus file. delete it and find another, those type of files can/may also have things with them you down want (like downloader trojans)

an avi file is a container for video/audio. pretty color test pattern or black screen that lasts for a couple minutes in a 700 mg file
