    Capture Video Problems

I have an ATI All In Wonder 9800 series video capture card. I can see a picture on the video camera when it's plugged in the card. However, when trying to use it when connected to Netmeeting it won't transfer the image or sound. I've done a PC check in the ATI software and it shows a clock stability issue with my sound card which is a Creative SB Live Series 5.1 and recommends upgrading with the latest drivers for the audio card.

I checked the card on the Creative sight and it shows it has the latest driver installed.

Any suggestions as to how this problem can be resolved? We have three grand children anxiously awaiting.
    Thank you,

IMO the best software for capturing with the ATI AIW is the MMC software from ATI. I've had good results with Virtual vcr also

      Netmeeting

I have that software bundle with the ATI card and use it for watching TV, playing DVDs. It won't help when trying to log on Netmeeting and transfer the live capture.

Are you trying to stream the video from your video camera to netmeeting? I am not sure that is possible. You can use webcam for that purpose. Otherwise, you probably need to capture your video to ur hd, then compress that to a small file for streaming.

          Webcam

I have used my video camera in the past for netmeeting. It was on my old system. This new Dell won't work for some reason.

              Problems with Audio playback

I know this is kind of off topic, but I am having some difficulty with my audio playback after converting movies into digital format. I have converted the video with a dazzle 80 converter (both in avi and mpeg), but after I have put it onto a disc, and popped it into my dvd player, the sound only comes out of two speakers (there is no bass nor does it come out of the remaining three that are in my surround sound set) I tried to capture audio alone with this device, and the same problem has occured. Is this common? Is there a way to capture video that is able to be played in surround sound? I am desperate to know. It's been bugging me. I am willing to buy a new video capture device if need be, but I'd like to get an understanding of what is going on. Thanks.

                Hi eboss,
The Dazzle has red and white RCA connectors for the left and right channels of stereo audio.
Since it only supports Stereo, if you want 5.1ch .ac3 dd audio you'll need to up-convert the audio using something like BeSweet, then mux it back with your video before burning to a dvd.
