No voice on Pioneer divx player?

    Hello all,

I have an avi file which plays great on my computer, but when I've burned it on a DVD and try to watch it on my Pioneer 575A DVD (divX) player, the "voice" sound is gone (or terrible low, I'm not sure). The picture and the background music is ok, you just can't hear them talk!
    Anyone got a clue?

This is my first post and I hope I haven't broken any rules by asking a quiestion about a "hardware" divx player (pioneer).

i am guessing the avi file has ac3 audio. if so, you would be better off encoding that audio to mp3. to do so (i am writing this all from memory, so bear with me):

    1.download & install 'virtualdubmod'

2.download & install an mp3 codec, such as 'lame'

3.open the avi file in virtualdubmod. under 'video', click 'direct stream copy'

    4.under 'streams', click 'stream list'

5.right-click the audio stream in the little window that pops up, and click 'full processing mode', right-click again, click 'compression'

    6.choose your mp3 codec and pick a bitrate (i recommend 192kbps)

7.click OK until you get back to the main window. under 'file'. click 'save as avi'

8.play your file on your divx player...

Thank you for the good info anonymez and Columbo.

I feel kind of embarrased to say that I've tried your solution with no luck and after a while I remembered that I've installed new firmware on the pioneer and hence reseted the speaker settings.
And I'm sorry to say that this was the problem! (2 channel instead of 5.1 channels).

But hey I learnt a thing or two being a total newbie!
Sorry for wasting your time and thanks again!
