    Reversed colors in downloaded AVIs

Not all, but a number of AVIs I have downloaded from various locations play with the colors reversed - red=blue, etc. MAny of them are DivX3, but some MPG4 and DivX 5s exhibit similar behavior.

This used to be fine, these vids played with no problem, and on different players sometimes play fine on one, reversed on another.

It's driving me nuts. Any ideas how to solve, and where to get the proper codes, if that's the issue? Thanks.

first of all, go into your graphics card settings, see if you have changed any overlay colour settings, eg hue, saturation, brighness, etc.

if not, first uninstall any 'codec packs' you may have installed, then download & install the latest 'ffdshow' from http://www.free-codecs.com

have you got your latest graphics card drivers?
