problem to edit wmv file with windows media file editor

Hi,
when i open a wmv file using windows media file editor 9, the timer (hh:mm:sec) is disabled.So i can't edit the file.
Can somebody tell me what can be the problem ?
The encoded file i want to edit are obtained using windows media encoder 9

Try Ulead Video Studio (www.ulead.com for a trial) - that works great for me!
Just a tip, when saving a clip, click on Custom NOT WMV or it will be of crappy quality.
