    Video play back problem

    ok this is my first post here....im new here anyway....i recently got a movie that i downloaded and it plays fine on the divix player...but while its playing...it freezes temporaily ever so often but keeps playing....do i need another codec for this or what....how can i fix this prob

      how does it play in media player classic? you sure it's not your pc bogging it (multitasking etc)?

      have a lot of codecs on your system? divx 5.2.1 is what i use.

          letting ffdshow decode the video will ensure you are using minimal cpu, download & install the 'october 13 2005' version at http://www.aziendeassociate.it/cd.asp?dir=/ffdshow


          as the LT mentioned, use 'media player classic' to play the files. divx's player is one of the worst i've ever seen, very inefficient the last time i used it...

              well i got to lookin at the video...its not really freezing its like jumpy or flickering while its playing...not sure whats goin on

                      well thanks for the help anyways...ill try to fix or just deal with it or just watch for other answers lol

                          try different players, or even scan it for bad frames in virtualdub.
