xvid to dsvd

i want to import an xvid compressed video to premiere 6.5 to make subtitles. found out until now that i probably have to change the codec (to dvsd) to be able to import it. spent quite a while in this forum and elsewhere to find a converter but without luck yet - tried gordian knot, dv date, plato video converter already, without results.

anybody knows, how its possible to convert xvid to dvsd?
or how else to make it importable for premiere 6.5?

or is it simply NOT possible?

where should i install xvid? yes, i can see these films in other applications, i just cant open them in premiere!
