    Divx playback corruption?

Dont know if anyone else has seen this but I will explain the problem
    I am having.

When I try to watch DIVX tv shows I get a lot of corruption on the screen (Blocks in differant colors) which make the program unwatchable.

I am running various machines all high spec 3.4 ghz with 1gb of memory and decent video cards. one is running XP pro whilst the other is running XP Media center.
I have uninstalled all codecs other than divx 6.1 OR FFDSHOW and still no change.
I just got a further macine and it is running XP home and this works perfectly with divx 6.1.
I have not got a clue what could be causing the XP pro and media center machines to corrupt.

    Any idea anyone?

latest directx? latest graphics card drivers? try playing with 'media player classic' or 'VLC'

make sure your ffdshow build is from http://ffdshow.sourceforge.net/tikiw...etting+ffdshow and not from over a year ago

      Still no joy

Thanks for the reply, I have tried these and still get the same issue, it appears like there is a conflict in codecs, but i have only installed one? any other suggestions?

DVD's are fine, as well as on media center machine anything i record from TV is fine. This happens on 3 of my 4 machines, Mad (Only happened in past 4 months or so) I have reinstalled OS to no avail.

I have now done a fresh install of win xp pro and installed just ffdshow.
It still has exactly the same problem.!
Am I doing something fundamentally wrong.?
Surely someone else is having these problems?
I also noticed that media player 8 keeps crashing after about 4 seconds when trying to play and divx or xvid, so was using mplay32.

list apps (video/ms update related) you installed on this machine after the clean install; done a windows update (sp2)? the fact it happens on 3 of your 4 machines makes me think its software related

Surely someone else is having these problems?
don't think i've seen this before; where the files are known to be working, where codecs, drivers, directx are all good, and only affects divx, not dvd's. quite uncommon.

I have installed the OS, Applied SP2 and all device drivers such as Video and sound. Then applied Direct X latest version.
I have then installed DivX codec. (Did not fix problem) uninstalled and installed FFDshow, latest version (Did not fix problem)
The tv prog run fine on my recent XP Home machine and nothing appears to be differant. ? Bizzarre

                          xvid is NOT divx.

its either a problem with the decoders (both xvid/ffdshow and divx) or the file itself

never seen an xvid ffdshow couldn't decode, but

if you have ffdshow installed, go start-->program files-->ffdshow-->video decoder configuration. click 'codecs', then change the entry 'xvid' from 'libavcodec' to 'disabled'. click OK

download & install the xvid codec (1.1) http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml

Still the same, the only differance I know of is that the machine that works fine has an AMD CPU whilest all the ones that are dodgy have Intel (Probably nothing to do with it)
