    Perfect AVI>Out of sync VOB

First off, greetings all and thank you in advance for any suggestions you might have for me!

I have this absolutely divine avi that whenever i convert to dvd (vsoDivxtoDVD, DVDSanta...etc) the audio is 149 ms off. I've double checked the original file (avi) and again, it is perfectly in sync.

My questions are, is there a proggy out there that can FIX the VOB (like timestretcher for avi's) or is there a quick fix for this? I'm willing to try any new programs you throw at me. I've tried vbub (but again, it's not the avi that is off...rather it is the converted vob1&2). I've tried timestretcher but, again....not avi issue.

I've heard wonderful things about Tmpgenc....any suggestions video gurus?

    Breathlessly awaiting suggestions...

if it's 149ms off throughout the clip, refer to the guide at the end of this one

Vob is off by 149 ms

Thank you Lt. Colombo for that wonderful link (i've bookmarked every single one!).

My problem is that the VOB is off by 149 ms. The original avi backup I've created on my hard drive is perfect. It seems when I take the video into divxtoDVD or DVDSanta, the file for DVD (VOB format) is off. DivxtoDVD even says it in the details of the file when converting that "audio is 149ms late". I know it isn't the AVI because it plays fine on my computer and off the CD that I have backed it up on.

As for obtaining the original film, I've sent it to my best friend in NC.

Again, if anyone has had this problem and know how to fix it, I'd be so grateful to find out why this is happening and any solutions you might have.

      Thanks in advance!

i know but forget those softwares, get the 30 day trial of tmpgenc and do it that way by re-encoding first. there can still be a problem with the avi. i've had too ones that playback fine, but go out of sync after conversion from a bad frame or corrupt header etc. that software you use has the ability to measure the gap, yet no fix for it? use tmpgenc, simple thing to fix.

Maybe you could open the AVI up in VirtualDub and fix something in there.
