Annoyed!!!

Ok under the guidence of Lt. Columbo I removed every codec thing apart from ffdshow. Things worked fine for a while. Now some videos are not working. They show the picture in VLC player but no sound. In wmp10 it is just all broken pixelated and no sound. I dont want to use multiple players. I dont want to have to install the k-lite codec pack, because this is the only solution I can think of right now.

I have only ffdshow installed.

Here are the screen shots from virtual dub mod. Can anyone help me please?

go start-->programs-->ffdshow-->VFW configuration, click 'decoder' tab, then 'codecs', find divx5, change from disabled to libavcodec. do the same for other fourcc's that give the same error
