Hi there,
I have both the DVico Dual Digital PCI card & the USB DTV units & although they produce great quality I'm not terribly impressed by the stability of the software or its ability in producing reliably working *.mpg files 100% of the time.
I find that the dvico software crashes very often on cleanly installed XPsp1 or sp2 OS's.
And at least 30% of the time the output is completely screwed: ie it either doesn't play at all on windows media player (& only on proper DVD software like PowerDVD), or stupid problems like you can't seek through the file.
Another problem I just recently figured out is that none of them can be converted properly by mpeg4 converters such as FlaskMPEG or others.
The video & audio play the every 2 seconds it slows down then normal speed then slows down, etc, etc.
Anyone else having these problems with their DVico cards also?
Love to hear from ya.
Any suggestions other than buying a different brand unit?
