DVD recording has a fault

Hi
Can anyone point me to where I can get advice on the following problem.

I have some copied DVD files where through bad burning or whatever, there are parts in the movie file where it stutters or freezes. Sometimes you can stuff around and get it going but generally not.

Is it possible to edit the bad part out.? I think I know that you can delete whole chapters but I am not sure about bits of a chapter.?

You could try reauthoring it in shrink with the start and end frame selection a coupla times
