VLV file can't be played by MPC

Hello!

My media player classic used to open everything, but this time it has problem with FLV file. FLV player plays it without problems, but when I open it with MPC, it says that "...couldn't render some of the pins in the graph, you may not have the needed codecs or filters isntalled on the system". However I have ffdshow 2005 1124 on my pc and it used to open everything. So what I get is that there's only sound and no image.

Any suggestions?

ensure the flv splitter is enabled in MPC through options-->internal filters, then download & install ffdshow (get a fresh build from http://www.x264.nl), go start-->programs-->ffdshow-->video decoder config and set FLV1 to libavcodec

Anonymez, you are a genius! I won't say anything else. Yes, there was FLV option in ffdshow but it was dsiabled. I switched it to libavcodec and ow it works well.

PS. I'm updating ffdshow from your link. Do I have to install both ffdshow sse and sse2?

uninstall the one you currently have. if your CPU is supports SSE2 (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE2#CPUs_supporting_SSE2) then download the SSE2 build. if not, SSE

My CPU is Intel Celeron 400 Mhz, I don't know what slot or socket.. but as Intel pentium doesn't support sse2, probably my old CPU also won't support it.

Ok, I'm installing now. Do I have select few unselected codecs too? I mean Windows Media, MPEG, Uncompressed. Will it save CPU?

the defaults will do just fine. you'll probably want to disable post-processing though
