    Converting divx to DVD

    Hey folks

Can anyone give me a recommendation on the best software (most effective and/or user friendly) that can be used to convert video files (mainly in Xvid and DivX format) into DVD so I can watch them on my DVD player?

    Much appreciated

TMPGEnc does a good job, but it's not freeware. maybe look at mediacoder (freeware) or avi2dvd

            Mediacoder

            Hello again

I find myself seriously lacking knowlege of the transcoding process and anything to do with file conversion. I think I've seen the light in the form of mediacoder but I was wondering how to convert to DVD. At the moment, I've dragged the Xvid file into mediacoder but I do not know how to choose the output file format in order that the finished product is DVD.

Can anyone take me through the Xvid to DVD conversion process on mediacoder and explain how to do this step by step. Your assistance is very much appreciated fellas

Try SuperDVD creator, simple enough to understand

                GW,
In Mediacoder, select MPEG2 in Video and MPEG in Container.Set the bitrate u wish to have. Then u will have MPEG2 files.Feed them into any authoring software and u will have ur DVD files to burn.
If u want an easier way, as I said earlier, Divx2DVD is pretty good.
For help regarding use of Mediacoder, see this:http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/forum/
