I've been a longtime user of Windows Media Encoder 9 Series and use it regularly to encode video files with.
Recently, however, after I start up the program and then fill out all the info fields for the new file I want to convert, I then press the "Finish" button on the last wizard window and the entire program window vanishes when it used to let me then press the "Start Encoding" button at the top and watch the video get encoded.
I've also tried using another converter program that lets you choose which codec to encode with. All the codecs listed work fine except for the WMVideo ones. When I select and try to encode with, say, WMVideo 9 DMO, the program tells me the following error:
failed bBuilder ->RenderStream( NULL, NULL, pPin, NULL, pMux )
So I suspect there must be an error with my WMVideo codecs somewhere. I have since tried reinstalling Windows Media Encoder and installing the newest version of Windows Media Player 11 - but this doesn't make any difference.
How do I fix my messed up WMV codecs? I'd really like to be able to encode in WMV again.
