easiest method is probably mediacoder or avidemux; IIRC you'll have to author the DVD afterwards with something like dvdauthor, then burn with ImgBurn

        hmmm, not good

mediacoder decoded the mp4's, unfortunately it wasn't viewable and the audio was very bad. the video was very pixelated.

any others? it doesn't have to be free, free is good, but performance is what i'm after.

            most likely badly set up

try avidemux, also freeware. this may help http://www.avidemux.org/wki/index.ph...verting_to_DVD

              indeed

I won't argue the "likely a bad setup" , i went along with the defaults.

tried cucu and it wouldn't even see the mp4 files.

the avidemux seems straight forward until the example gets to the "use the calculator" to figure the size. wtf are they talking about calculating? and if you download avidemux, and you're using xp pro, which version/versions/installers is wise to select? i obviously see the windows zip file, you need the installer as well?

and thanks to both of ya.

thanks for your pointing out those utilities, but i must be screwing it totally up. nothing usable from either of them. but thanks anyway!

If you have the latest codec pack from Ace or Kazza, you should be able to use NeroVision if you have the DVD/VCD codec for it. You could also use the trial version of some of the adobe DVD software to do it as well.

an essential step, you need to specify output file size in order to calculate the bitrate.
