    Duh...whats this???

Ok here is the deal, I have three or four .avi files that are supposedly divx files. I installed DivX 3.11a, then 4, then 5. I still only hear audio when I play these files with Windows Media Player (which plays other divx files fine I might add...). I have install the Nimo codec pack and the Tsunami Codec pack also. Neither one have brought me any sucess. The really weird thing is, these three files play fine in DivX Player 2. Why won't it work in WMP ???

I'm speculating that the Windows Media Player can't cope with the 23:1 audio to video interleaving (This is usually done instead of the "normal" 1:1 interleave as a way to save a few megabytes of filesize)....

        Yes,

Load it into virtualdub, select direct sream copy for both video and audio, then select audio->interleaving and enter 1 in the 'interleave audio every X frames' box. Then you can save this as a new and hopefully working avi .
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

Then, as khp indicated, set both "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying" and simply save with a new filename...
