    Mux .ts with DTS audio?????

Ok here is what I have. I have a .ts with a mpeg 2 video inside that I capped, it is 1080i. Next I have the DTS audio track from the DVD. Now what I want to do is mux the two togeather. Also I am sure that they won't perfectly match up so I will need a way to edit the DTS to make it match.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

the easy part-- mplayer should be able to mux mpeg2/dts to mpeg ts. i'd go with mkv though

Also I am sure that they won't perfectly match up so I will need a way to edit the DTS to make it match.
can be very difficult and time consuming. tbh i don't do much audio editing but one freeware method is to demux each channel to separate wav files with say belight. open with audacity and line it up with the original track from the ts file. save project, apply edits to each wav, combine & encode back to dts.

Is there no way, to leave the DTS untouched?

by untouched, i mean not convert to one form, then convert back.

i would presume such editing will require re-encoding. if you encode properly i very much doubt you'll notice the difference
