No Sound in .AVI - AC3 didn't work

First off, I have a Mac and am trying to play a video in Quicktime 7.

I just downloaded a file from a torrent and discovered that the sound isn't working. This hasn't happened to me in a long time, so I was quite shocked. I downloaded the AC3 codec (twice, even), but that didn't work. Then I opened the movie properties in Quicktime and this is what it says about the audio:

    Format: AC3 Depressor
    Duration: 0:00.00

Does this mean there is no audio in the file?
