Back up old Hi8 PAL Video Camera Recorder tapes on DVD

Hello,
can someone let me know how to back up my old Hi8 tapes (before the VCR dies) on DVD's.
The VCR has S-Video and Red-White-Yellow output.

What you are talking about is 'Video capture'.

I hav'nt done this for ages,but I can point you in the right direction.

You will need a video capture device.

There are numerous different brands of capture devices availble. I have found that you get what you pay for.

I have used a Dazzle DVC and the an ATI All in wonder video card to capture my home movies to video to mpg. the mpg files can then be converted to Dvd.

try doing a SEARCH on "Video Capture" .
